H Joseph Reiser, PhD

H. Joseph Reiser, PhD has more than 40 years of pharmaceutical and biotech management experience in both public and private companies. In large pharma, Dr. Reiser was the Corporate Vice President and General Manager, Pharmaceuticals and a member of the Board of Directors for Berlex Laboratories, the U.S. subsidiary of Schering AG (now Bayer AG). During his 17-year tenure at Berlex, Dr. Reiser also held numerous senior leadership positions, including President of Schering Berlin’s Venture Corporation, Vice President, Technology and Industry Relations, and Vice President, Drug Development. In the biotech space, Dr. Reiser served as President and CEO or founded seven biotech companies including two NASDAQ-listed public companies, Cytogen and Cortendo AB (now StrongBridge). Private companies include Locus Pharmaceuticals, CureDM, BioPancreate, Hylagenix and most recently, CEO and member of the Board of Mito Biopharm LLC, a mitochondrial disease company. Dr. Reiser has served on numerous Boards, including more recently Chairman of three companies. Dr. Reiser has also served as Chairman of the New Jersey Biotechnology Council from 2001 to 2002 and concluded a six-year tenure as a member of the Board and Executive Committee of Life Sciences Pennsylvania. Dr. Reiser received his PhD in Physiology from Indiana University School of Medicine, where he also earned his Master and Bachelor of Science degrees.
